COLING, the International Conference on Computational Linguistics, is one of the premier events for natural language processing and  computational linguistics. First established in 1965, the biennial COLING conference is held in diverse parts of the globe with participants ranging from top-ranked research centers to emerging countries. Today, the most important developments in our field are taking place not only in universities and academic research institutes, but also in industrial research departments, including technology startups. COLING provides opportunities for all these communities to showcase their exciting discoveries.

COLING 2022 will be held in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, from October 12 to 17, with the special theme of Tackling the grand challenges of the world by promoting mutual understanding through language. The conference has received a record-reaking number of papers, which feature substantial, original research in all aspects of natural language and computation. The accepted papers will be presented at the main conference on October 12-15, along with three invited talks from Martha Palmer (University of Colorado, USA), Marco Baroni (ICREA and Pompeu Fabra University, Spain), and Kentaro Inui (Tohoku University, Japan). COLING 2022 will host also 20 workshops and 7 tutorials, from October 16 to 17.
